Insbesondere in Deutschland fehlt es an Wohnungen. Studien zeigen, dass j\u00e4hrlich zus\u00e4tzlich mehr als 200.000 bezahlbare Wohnungen gebraucht werden. Gleichzeitig m\u00fcssen Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte der Neubauten hinsichtlich Baumaterialien und Gesamtenergieeffizienz erheblich verbessert werden, um die von der Europ\u00e4ischen Union vorgegebenen Klimaziele bis 2035 zu erreichen. Die EU-Geb\u00e4uderichtlinie schreibt beispielsweise vor, dass alle neuen Geb\u00e4ude in der EU ab 2021 nahezu auf dem Niveau von Null-Energie-H\u00e4usern zu bauen sind.
