El oro, el cobre, el esta\u00f1o, el plomo, la plata, el hierro y el mercurio fueron los \u00fanicos siete metales conocidos y utilizados hasta el siglo XIII, y solo se descubrieron cinco metales m\u00e1s hasta el siglo XVII. Hoy sabemos que alrededor de dos tercios de todos los elementos conocidos son metales [1].<\/p><p>Los primeros productos de hierro datan de hace casi 6000 a\u00f1os, y debido a la suavidad del hierro, se consum\u00eda como adorno en lugar de herramientas y armas. El hierro se carboniz\u00f3 para obtener un material m\u00e1s duradero (acero) alrededor del a\u00f1o 1200 a. C., y este descubrimiento trajo un cambio significativo y anunci\u00f3 el comienzo de la edad del hierro. Los productos de acero m\u00e1s antiguos se encuentran en un sitio arqueol\u00f3gico en Turqu\u00eda (Kaman, Kaleh\u00f6y\u00fck) [2][3]. El conocimiento de la producci\u00f3n de acero se extendi\u00f3 por una gran \u00e1rea con el Imperio Romano a trav\u00e9s del comercio o la guerra [4]. La transici\u00f3n fue lenta, pero los productos de hierro fundido y forjado eventualmente reemplazaron al bronce en la mayor\u00eda de las \u00e1reas. Los hornos se hicieron m\u00e1s prominentes y el acero mejor\u00f3. Los primeros herreros produc\u00edan hachas, cinceles, azadas, espadas y otros implementos de excelente calidad. En 1350, los fabricantes de hierro de Europa central lograron fundir y moldear hierro a trav\u00e9s de altos hornos primitivos.<\/p><p><br \/>La fabricaci\u00f3n de art\u00edculos complejos, como chalecos antibalas ensamblados a partir de cientos de piezas iguales de placas y alambres martillados, requer\u00eda una habilidad y experiencia considerables. El proceso requer\u00eda mucha mano de obra debido a las largas horas de martilleo requeridas. Desde el siglo XVII hasta los albores de la revoluci\u00f3n industrial, todos los art\u00edculos no fundidos, desde ornamentales hasta \u00fatiles, se fabricaban a mano mediante forja que requer\u00eda mucha mano de obra. Leonardo da Vinci dise\u00f1\u00f3 los primeros verdaderos trenes de laminaci\u00f3n en 1480 [7].<\/p><p>El acero laminado a temperatura ambiente (conformado en fr\u00edo) comenz\u00f3 a fines del siglo XVIII y se volvi\u00f3 m\u00e1s ampliamente utilizado en el siglo XIX. A finales del siglo XIX y XX, una inmensa variedad de l\u00e1minas de aluminio, cobre, lat\u00f3n, plomo, esta\u00f1o, titanio, zirconio y aleaciones especiales laminadas en caliente y en fr\u00edo estuvieron disponibles comercialmente. Sin estos productos planos laminados, nuestra vida actual y nuestro nivel de vida ser\u00edan inimaginables.<\/p><h2>Perfilada<\/h2><p>Una descripci\u00f3n general de la formaci\u00f3n de rollos se puede escribir simplemente como \"En un proceso de formaci\u00f3n de rollos, pares de rollos de perfil dispuestos en t\u00e1ndem doblan transversalmente una l\u00e1mina de metal en movimiento y la convierten en un producto que tiene un perfil de secci\u00f3n transversal designado\". [5].<\/p><p><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6771 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/arkitechglobal.com\/media\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1666955784804.jpg\" alt=\"Typical layout of the rollers\" width=\"579\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arkitechglobal.com\/media\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1666955784804.jpg 579w, https:\/\/arkitechglobal.com\/media\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1666955784804-300x177.jpg 300w, https:\/\/arkitechglobal.com\/media\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1666955784804-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/p><p>En el perfilado, un determinado n\u00famero de pares de ejes con rodillos dispuestos en oposici\u00f3n, que suelen ser diferentes para cada pasada de perfilado, realizan el plegado y determinan la forma de la chapa deformada [1].<\/p><h2>Estructuras de acero conformado en fr\u00edo (CFSS)<\/h2><p>En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, la construcci\u00f3n temporal y r\u00e1pida es la preferida por el trabajador en \u00e1reas remotas. Para este prop\u00f3sito, la gente encontr\u00f3 marcos de madera y l\u00e1minas de metal delgadas dobladas \u00fatiles para sus necesidades. Principalmente se fabrican l\u00e1minas de cubierta de hierro, que se reforzaba dando algunas peque\u00f1as deformaciones en la superficie, y se utilizan para construir cobertizos para alojamiento o espacios de trabajo. Los documentos m\u00e1s antiguos relacionados con los trabajadores en Am\u00e9rica del Norte durante la fiebre del oro en 1849. Se produjeron casas de hierro port\u00e1tiles para los trabajadores [8].<\/p><p>CFSS se exhibi\u00f3 en Chicago Century of Progress (Feria Mundial) en 1933. Este tipo de estructura se muestra como el \"Hogar del futuro\". Sin embargo, el logro m\u00e1s significativo fue el inicio de un proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n del American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). en 1939. AISI patrocin\u00f3 a los investigadores de la Universidad de Cornell, lo que result\u00f3 en la publicaci\u00f3n en 1946 de la primera edici\u00f3n de la especificaci\u00f3n AISI. Los tipos de edificios m\u00e1s adecuados se pueden enumerar como escuelas, dormitorios, hoteles, edificios residenciales y estructuras modulares.<\/p><p>La construcci\u00f3n de acero conformado en fr\u00edo (CFS) es una alternativa pr\u00e1ctica al hormig\u00f3n o las estructuras de acero convencionales, principalmente debido a su mayor relaci\u00f3n resistencia\/peso y su construcci\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida. Debido a su peso m\u00e1s ligero, los edificios residenciales y comerciales de CFS se est\u00e1n convirtiendo en alternativas m\u00e1s eficientes en regiones que involucran riesgo s\u00edsmico en comparaci\u00f3n con sus contrapartes de hormig\u00f3n y acero convencional. Los paneles de pared hechos de marcos CFS revestidos en un lado o en ambos lados con acero o alg\u00fan tipo de tablero de madera han sido ampliamente utilizados como elementos resistentes a la carga lateral en estructuras de acero conformadas en fr\u00edo construidas especialmente en regiones de riesgo s\u00edsmico bajo y medio.
