Sin embargo, no son el \u00fanico par\u00e1metro que define las dimensiones de la cimentaci\u00f3n. Las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas y el m\u00e9todo de aplicaci\u00f3n ser\u00edan otro par\u00e1metro.<\/p><p>Si la regi\u00f3n est\u00e1 sujeta a una temperatura inferior a grados negativos, la cimentaci\u00f3n se dise\u00f1ar\u00e1 como cimentaci\u00f3n estructural. Debido a las bajas temperaturas, el hormig\u00f3n puede congelarse y provocar posibles grietas. La mayor\u00eda de los c\u00f3digos estructurales definen una profundidad debajo del suelo nivelado para proteger la base de los cimientos del fr\u00edo. Adem\u00e1s de la profundidad de la plataforma de concreto, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos tambi\u00e9n se requiere aislamiento para el fr\u00edo, y hay un dibujo de secci\u00f3n de muestra ilustrado en la Figura 1. Los cimientos estructurales se pueden usar en todas las condiciones, incluidas las regiones de fr\u00edo extremo. Los elementos verticales y horizontales est\u00e1n separados entre s\u00ed y tienen diferentes elevaciones en la mayor\u00eda de los casos. Detalle general de aislamiento de la cimentaci\u00f3n estructural. SEI\/ASCE 32-01 [1]<\/p><p>Otro m\u00e9todo com\u00fan para los cimientos es construir losas de hormig\u00f3n a nivel del suelo. Este tipo de cimentaci\u00f3n puede resultar m\u00e1s rentable si se tiene en cuenta lo siguiente:<\/p><p>\u2013 Clima m\u00e1s c\u00e1lido. En climas m\u00e1s c\u00e1lidos donde las l\u00edneas de heladas son bajas.<\/p><p>\u2013 No hay plomer\u00eda ni tuber\u00edas debajo de los cimientos.<\/p><p>\u2013\u00a0 No hay s\u00f3tano en los planos arquitect\u00f3nicos.<\/p><p>El espesor de la base se puede calcular seg\u00fan los c\u00f3digos de dise\u00f1o. Sin embargo, el espesor de la losa puede variar seg\u00fan las posiciones de los muros estructurales y las cargas.<\/p><p>Es f\u00e1cil trabajar con cimientos de losa a nivel del suelo; sin embargo, proteger la base del fr\u00edo puede resultar un desaf\u00edo. ASCE 32-01 proporciona un detalle para la protecci\u00f3n (Figura 2). Adem\u00e1s de proteger la base del congelamiento, algunos otros posibles problemas preocupan al dise\u00f1ador acerca de este tipo de base. Verter el hormig\u00f3n sobre el suelo directamente sin ning\u00fan tipo de encofrado mediante control humano puede provocar algunos errores en el espesor del hormig\u00f3n, lo que acaba provocando cierto asentamiento del suelo con el tiempo. Otro problema son las inundaciones.
